Your Questions, Answered

  • I provide individual psychotherapy for adults. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and informed by relational, somatic, and values-based approaches. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, identity exploration, chronic stress, and the deeper work of understanding patterns, meaning, and self-connection. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your goals rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

  • Getting started is simple. You can reach out via email or the contact form on my website. From there, we’ll schedule a brief consultation call to see if we’re a good fit and to answer any initial questions. If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an intake session and I’ll send you all necessary paperwork ahead of time.

  • I approach therapy as a deeply human, collaborative process. I value curiosity, nuance, and honoring your lived experience rather than rushing toward labels or quick fixes. I’m especially attentive to the intersections of mental health, environment, identity, and justice, and I work in a way that respects your autonomy and inner wisdom. My goal is to create a space that feels grounded, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive, not clinical or transactional.

  • You can contact me through the secure contact form on my website or by emailing me directly. I do my best to respond within 1–2 business days.

    • Initial intake session (60 minutes): $110

    • Ongoing therapy sessions (50 minutes): $90

I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible, and I offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots based on financial need. If my standard fees feel out of reach, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can discuss options.

  • Clients often describe working with me as grounded, thoughtful, and easy to talk with. I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are, without pressure to perform, explain everything perfectly, or rush your process. Sessions are structured but flexible, reflective but practical, and always centered on what feels most meaningful and useful to you.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I am not contracted directly with insurance companies. However, many insurance plans offer reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services, often covering 40–80% of the session cost once your deductible is met.

I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask:

    • Whether you have out-of-network mental health benefits

    • What percentage is reimbursed

    • What your deductible is

After each session, I can provide a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

If navigating insurance feels overwhelming, you may choose to use the Better app. They specialize in obtaining reimbursement for out-of-network medical expenses and, for a small fee, will advocate on your behalf and deposit reimbursements directly to you.

I also accept HSA and FSA cards as forms of payment. Clients are responsible for confirming eligibility with their plan administrator.

  • Private-pay therapy offers greater autonomy, privacy, and flexibility in your care. When insurance is involved, therapists are required to share detailed information about your treatment, assign a mental health diagnosis, and demonstrate “medical necessity.” Insurance companies may also limit the number of sessions or dictate which treatment approaches are approved.

Paying privately allows your care to be guided by your goals, values, and lived experience, not by an insurance company’s criteria. For many people, mental and emotional well-being is something they want to cultivate, not something they view as a diagnosable disorder that needs to be documented on their insurance record.

Private-pay therapy protects your confidentiality and allows us to work collaboratively, creatively, and at a pace that truly supports your healing.

Your rights and protections against surprise medical bills can be found through consumer protections outlined in the No Surprises Medical Act (2021).

  • Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). I also accept PayPal and Venmo.

  • Access to mental health care is something I care deeply about. I believe therapy should not be a luxury, and I am committed to doing what I can to make care more accessible and equitable. Within my practice, I hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots for clients who may not be able to afford my standard fees. If cost is a barrier, I encourage you to reach out so we can talk about options and discuss placement on my sliding-scale waitlist.

  • I maintain a 48-hour cancellation policy.

    • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged a $50 fee

    • Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee

This policy helps me maintain availability and sustainability in my practice. I appreciate your understanding.
